Crespín will talk about the technical and creative process in the
making of his “electrokinetics”. In addition, the artist will make
demonstrations of how to program the installations, and engage the
audience to participate in adding new sequences that will keep
during his exhibition at Canal.
For
the past 4 years, Elías Crespín (b. Caracas, 1965) has been
developing his series of works “Electrocinéticas” (Electrokinetics),
based on the study, exploration and research in the field of Science
Computer and a family legacy that embraced his training as an
artist. Crespín has exhibited at the National Art Gallery of
Caracas; Jacobo Borges Museum; the Museum of Contemporary Art of
Zulia; the Museum of Miranda; among others. Likewise, he has
obtained national and international recognition, such as the
Artist’s Choice Award at ArtBots (2005), in Dublin, Ireland; as well
as the Armando Reverón Prize at the 61st Arturo Michelena
Salon in Venezuela. Since 2004, Crespín has been teaching and giving
lectures about his work in numerous universities and museums of
Venezuela. His next exhibition will be at the Kinetica Museum in
London.
